How can The Telegraph criticize US debt as a 'danger to the global economy' when the UK government is also drowning in debt?

It was more in the nature of “the US economy is systemic to the global economy - if things go sideways for the US economy then that has knock-on implications for everyone else too.”
I don’t think that is the point. It is not a comment made in the vein of “we are doing so well, and you are doing so badly.”
